June 6, 1972: Nyls Nyman was drafted by the White Sox in the 16th round of the 1972 Major League Baseball draft .[ 6]
June 16, 1972: Jim Qualls was released by the White Sox.[ 4]
August 17, 1972: Eddie Fisher was traded by the California Angels to the Chicago White Sox for a player to be named later and Bruce Miller. The Chicago White Sox sent Bruce Kimm (September 1, 1972) to the California Angels to complete the trade.[ 7]
September 1, 1972: Hank Allen was signed as a free agent by the White Sox.[ 8]
