In Brooks first three seasons in 2018, 2019, and 2020, he rushed just 34 times for 164 yards.[3][4] In the 2021 season finale, Brooks rushed for a career-high 124 yards on 15 carries against the NC State.[5] During the 2021 Duke's Mayo Bowl, Brooks rushed five times for 72 yards and a touchdown, in a loss versus their rival South Carolina.[6] Brooks finished the 2021 season as his best, rushing for 295 yards and four touchdowns on 31 carries.[7][8] Heading into the 2022 season, Brooks suffered a season-ending knee injury, causing him to miss all of 2022.[9][10] After coming off his season-ending injury from 2022, Brooks had a big bounce back game in week one of the 2023 season, totaling 103 yards on 15 carries, while also hauling in three passes for 18 yards in a win over rival South Carolina.[11] Brooks finished his final collegiate season in 2023 rushing 75 times for 387 yards and two touchdowns, while also hauling in 14 receptions for 73 yards.[12]
After not being selected in the 2024 NFL draft, Brooks signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent.[14][15] After impressing the team in training camp and the preseason, Brooks made the Texans' initial 53 man roster.
