Peter Duus
Peter Duus (December 27, 1933 – November 5, 2022[1]) was an American Japanologist, historian, and translator. He was emeritus professor of history at Stanford University and a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, as well as president of the Association for Asian Studies in 2000–2001.[2] He received the Order of the Rising Sun from the Japanese government in 2012.[3] Selected bibliography
He was the editor of The Cambridge History of Japan, Volume 6 (1988). He also translated a couple of books by his writer wife, Masayo Umezawa Duus (ドウス 昌代, née 梅沢).[1] References
