The total number of literate persons in Raigachi was 5,604 (77.83% of the population over 6 years).[7] As of 2001[update] India census,[8] Raigachi had a population of 6728. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Raigachi has an average literacy rate of 55%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 58% and female literacy is 52%.
