After his professional sports career, Anderson became an Atlanta-area realtor,[7] and owned TazMedia and Taz Anderson Realty.[8] He helped create the Centennial Tower (a large olympic flame commemorating the 1996 Summer Olympics) next to The Varsity.[9]
Anderson was also deeply involved with the Georgia Tech Athletic Association; for ten years, he was a trustee, and "has been [a] member of or chair of every major project for the Tech Athletic Association for the past 30 years."[10] He organized and served as developer of the 1985 renovation of Alexander Memorial Coliseum.[10] He died on September 26, 2016, at the age of 77.[11]
