@Another Believer: Yeah, it is doable, however there are two rivers, one is in the city, the other is outside and around the city. I'm not sure if to create a different article for each. Viztor (talk) 21:04, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Another Believer:Possibly, I'm not seeing the name anywhere over the internet. The Gate of Correct Conduct is on the other side of the Gate of Supreme Harmony in pair with the Gate of Manifest Virtue. Do you happen to have a picture where it shows the tablet?Viztor (talk) 22:06, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Vixtor: My pictures are at commons:User:Another_Believer/Beijing. If you just search for "Meridian Gate" you'll come to my images of Forbidden City, which are displayed in chronological order as I went through the area. I did not categorize all the images, so I'm just hoping whoever did was correct with their labeling. Should be helpful when comparing with the map, though. ---Another Believer(Talk)22:08, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Morio: Just FYI, you categorized a lot of my photographs of Forbidden City at Wikimedia Commons. I'm basing some of the subject names and image additions here based on those categories. I'm not suggesting any inaccuracies on your part, but if you're interested in reviewing your labels or checking any of the stubs recently created based on these talk page discussions, that'd be helpful! Either way, thanks for your help at Commons. ---Another Believer(Talk)23:15, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your comment. The names of the Commons categories which I created are basically based on official tourist maps/guides of the Forbidden City which I got there (I lived near there for about a year and used to take a walk inside/outside). As you notice, same as its Chinese names, English names of each building are pretty dignified, very carefully translated. And, it was impossible for an amateur to work such translations out for the Commons category names. Therefore, regarding them, there was no way other than relying on official guides. Anyway, I will recheck the Commons category names.--Morio (talk) 14:37, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Another Believer and Morio:I've done some digging, it appears the Gate of Correct Conducts and the Gate of Moral Standards are the one and the same, there is no problem with the translation, they both express the original literal meaning correctly, however, there are different ways to translate them for aesthetic reasons. @Viztor: This map is incredibly helpful. If you happen to come across a list of the "pins"/sites on this map, I'd be interested in helping to "check off" the list to see which structures still need articles. Otherwise, I'll keep trying to reconcile by clicking around in the map and on-wiki. ---Another Believer(Talk)15:51, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@TheLeopard: I see you removed the Artifacts section. In your edit summary, you wrote: "Don't think it should list Artifacts section for only one of them. And there are almost 2 million collections of of art in just one; it is impossible to choose what to list." There may be many artifacts in the collection but surely there aren't too many Wikipedia articles created for specific artifacts. I don't feel strongly about whether or not they are listed here, but can you give a bit more insight into your reasoning here? I also invite other editors to weigh in re: if there should be an Artifacts section. Thanks! ---Another Believer(Talk)13:42, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Should the rest of the palaces be listed on the template?
There are a bunch of palaces (Six Western and Six Eastern) in the inner court that have an article but aren't listed in the template. Is this just an oversight or is there some rule against that? Keeper of the Queen's Corgis (talk) 19:40, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
