Template talk:Regions of New YorkChoice of regionsWhy were the regional definitions used by the Department of Economic Development chosen to be so prominent in this template? Upstate vs Downstate? This distinction seems sloppy to me. I lived in the Mohawk Valley (Onedia County) for eight years and people said I was in "central new york". This includes the people on the radio and writers in newspapers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RobinReborn (talk • contribs) 20:37, 7 December 2014 (UTC) No one from Ulster County would say that it is downstate. Downstate is the city, Long Island, and Westchester and Putnam Counties — Preceding unsigned comment added by Epoll964 (talk • contribs) 02:01, 15 February 2022 (UTC) |
