We can then stack it with NavBoxs such as Template:English law types, navigation in no less an important direction, and speciality areas.
Template:UK legislation is much more what the user is immediately looking for and interest in navigating to the broader field of UK legislation will come later.
The two templates contain, or ought to contain, the same info and I saw them as alternatives so that we could see which was the fittest by which got used.Cutler (talk) 21:58, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This is a great idea, much better than the previous template.
Other than making a large number of pages look a complete mess with the wholesale conversion of a side bar to a bottom bar? If you want to make a merge of this scale, get a bot to move the template to an appropriate position on each article first. This can be done quite simply by removing {{British legislation lists, Acts}} from each article and adding {{UK legislation}} in the normal Navbar position. Once the sidebar template is orphaned we can either redirect it or request a delete. Road Wizard (talk) 17:27, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think that there is a slight problem with the template. The link '1601 to 1701' goes to the page for the list for 1603 to 1641. Really there should be separate links for the pages for the ordinances of the interregnum (1642 to 1660) and the pages for 1660 to 1699 and for 1700 to 1706. I cannot understand why the template does not have these links unless it is out of date. James500 (talk) 15:58, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have made a proposal to modify the titles of most legislation lists included in this template, for the purposes of achieving increased consistency amongst them and greater conformance with the Manual of Style, as well as eliminating redundancy.
