Both list the opposite name as an alternative name, but their coordinates are listed as different places on Wikidata. If this is a single bay, what are the correct coordinates? Maintenance templatesGood Day I hope you're doing well. I'm currently working on improving the article (Thembu Kingdom) and noticed that a maintenance template has been added. I've reviewed the issues raised by the template and have made the necessary improvements. However, I’m unsure if the template can now be safely removed. Would you be able to review the page and confirm whether the issues have been resolved, and if so, assist with removing the template? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. Best regards, Getrude89 (talk) 23:47, 16 November 2024 (UTC) This stub is rated mid-importance yet has been unsourced for-5 years and was proposed for deletion in the past 4 years. Please find and add sources. I see some online. Bearian (talk) 21:09, 10 December 2024 (UTC) We should start an article on Ingoapele MadingoaneWe should start an article on Ingoapele Madingoane - "Poet and social activist Ingoapele Madingoane is considered the doyen of modern, politically conscious oral poetry. The late Madingoane was a formidable member of the 1976 Black Consciousness Sowetan poets. He wrote the famous, evocative, mini-epic poem, Africa my Beginning, which was published by Ravan Press in Johannesburg in 1979 and banned by the apartheid authorities two months later. Madingoane performed the poem widely in Soweto, accompanied by Mihloti Black Theatre’s flutes and drums. It became a regular feature during the protest rallies and funerals of anti-apartheid activists. He has had an indelible impact and influence on the post-apartheid generations of poets, including world-renowned poets Lesego Rampolokeng, Siphiwe ka Ngwenya, and Kgafela oa Magogodi. Madingoane was honored with a SALA Literary Posthumous Award in 2007, nine years after his death" [ https://sala.org.za/2006-2/ingoapele-madingoane/ ] - 189.122.84.88 (talk) 15:04, 3 January 2025 (UTC) Film year problemI've come across a South African film, The Demon (1979 film), with a significant problem — the title says 1979, but the release date in the template says 1981, and it's categorized as a 1981 film rather than a 1979 film. The few sources that are readily available on the web say it's 1981, but there's been edit-warring in the past over unsourced claims that it premiered in South Africa in 1979 with 1981 pertaining to a later US release rather than the premiere, which is how the current conflict arose. But the article has to be internally consistent — if it really did premiere in SA in 1979, then the article text and categories need to be modified from 1981 to 1979, and if it didn't, then the page title needs to be moved to 1981, and the current situation where the article is contradicting itself cannot continue. So, as I don't have access to the kind of archived South African media coverage it might take to verify whether the claims of a 1979 release are accurate or not, I wanted to ask if somebody here who does have such resources could look into this and figure out which way to fix the issue. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 16:17, 9 January 2025 (UTC) |
