Drahňov
Drahňov (Hungarian: Deregnyő) is a village and municipality in Michalovce District in the Kosice Region of eastern Slovakia. HistoryIn historical records the village was first mentioned in 1315.[citation needed] Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, it was part of Zemplén County within the Kingdom of Hungary. GeographyThe village lies at an altitude of 110 metres and covers an area of 17.56 km2 (6.78 sq mi) (2020-06-30/-07-01).[4] EthnicityIn 2001 60% of the population was Hungarian and 40% Slovak. PopulationIt has a population of 1,603 people (2020-12-31).[5] GovernmentThe village relies on the tax and district offices, fire brigade and police force at Veľké Kapušany. CultureThe village has a small public library, a post office, and a food store. SportsThe village has a football pitch. TransportThe village has a railway station.
