Falkušovce
Falkušovce (Hungarian: Falkus) is a village and municipality in Michalovce District in the Kosice Region of eastern Slovakia. HistoryIn historical records the village was first mentioned in 1290. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, it was part of Zemplén County within the Kingdom of Hungary. GeographyThe village lies at an altitude of 104 metres and covers an area of 9.44 km2 (3.64 sq mi) (2020-06-30/-07-01).[4] EthnicityIt has a population of 659 people (2020-12-31).[5] The population is about 95% Slovak in ethnicity. GovernmentThe village relies on the tax and district offices, and fire brigade at Michalovce and the police force at Trhovište. CultureThe village has a small public library, a post office, and food stores. SportsThe village has a football pitch. TransportThe nearest railway station is 6 kilometres away.
